The Ironman

Year 4 have been looking at The Ironman by Ted Hughes in Literacy. In our Art lessons we were inspired by the illustrations of Andrew Davidson that accompany the text.

First we practised our sketching techniques by looking closely at the shading used in the illustrations.

We practise in our sketchbooks, using our preferred shading techniques.

Then we used charcoal, chalk and a blue pastel on black sugar paper to recreate The Ironman on the front cover of the book.
