Camera Club Also Go Film Noir!

As we had all the Lego, boxes and torches already prepared from the morning'Film Noir lessons with Year 4, we decided to let the Year 3 Camera Clubbers have a go too - this time though they'd use their cameras on a black and white setting, instead of iPads and editing - and a great job they did too!

Film Noir To Lego Noir

As part of their Electricity topic Year 4 looked at the importance of lighting, especially in Film Noir. We first learnt about the main ingredients of Film Noir and discussed some typical Film Noir stills from a variety of movies.

Then in our groups we set to work creating our own Film Noir scenes using lego.

When we were happy with our scenes, we set about creating some mood lighting and took a picture on the iPad, before applying a 'noir' edit in the photo app.

Here our some of our finished Lego Noir scenes - have we got all the right ingredients: long shadows, sinister goings on and a sense of menace, a crime in an urban setting, a good detective and a mysterious villain and even a femme fatale?

More 'stills' from our Lego Noir to follow, once all the images have been downloaded from the iPads!
