They looked at the Art the Mayans used to decorate the inside of their temples....
....and some typical Mayan motifs.
They used these ideas to create a border for their Topic Wall.
Then they investigated the work of contemporary artist Dan Fenelon and who he was inspired by Mayan Art.
Inspired by his work, they began creating their own intricate designs in their sketch books, using different sized pens.
They are going to use some of their ideas to create a large painted mural around their classroom....watch this space!
