Strike A (Printed) Pose!

To finish their Get Moving topic, Year 3 returned to the pioneering photography of Eadweard Muybridge and the work of the Futurists, especially Umberto Boccioni, who all tried to show movement in their pictures.

We returned to theme of showing movement through overlapping posed figures, trying to get the effect of movement, rather like Edward Muybridge did in this photograph....

....or in these drawings, where by overlaying pictures, or moving them slightly you get the illusion of movement.

We did ours by creating string print posed figures, similar to our montage ones from a few weeks ago.... Get Moving Montage
Some of us decided to use a simple skeleton figure instead. First we created our string printing tiles. If we did an outline figure we could manoeuvre the string to create our figure with just one piece.

After that we applied some white paint and printed a single print before trying to overlay our prints or shake them when printing to show movement.
