Sizzling Still Life!

Year 2 have been focusing on still life, by practising drawing typical still life objects and using different techniques to shade their pictures.

We practised drawing still life pictures in our sketchbooks, becoming experts in hatching and cross-hatching!

Then we looked at hot and cold colours and how we could blend them together in our own still life pictures. First we used colouring pencils in our sketchbooks.....

.....before starting our larger A3 final picture on cartridge paper using oil pastels. We are kings and queens of blending! 

We are also heroes of the horizon 'excuse me!' line!

Finally, we went over our horizon 'excuse me!' line with a black oil pastel to show where the wall and table were; divided the wall and outlined our objects. Here are some of our finished ones, which are now all displayed in our class rooms.
