Our Arty Year!

Year 1 ended their Art Adventures by reviewing all the things they have done this year - what they had drawn, all the new materials they had tried, all the vocabulary they had learnt and the artists that had inspired them.

What a lot we remembered - from apples, teddies, minibeasts, winter scenes, the Stickman, Harry the robin, rainforest and jungle creatures to our recent exploration of the sea. We remembered the key artists we have looked at Matisse, Mondrian and Andy Goldsworthy as well as our new vocabulary: portrait, landscape, primary and secondary colours, blending, tint, geometric, freeform....and all the things we have used from pencils, colouringing pencils, soft pastels, paint, watercolours, oil pastels, plasticine, chalk, natural materials, collage, corks, fingers, iPads ...... as we drew, painted, shaded, photographed, moulded, printed, cut, stuck, ripped, mixed and created!

First we remembered the different subjects we had drawn linked to our different topics.

Mr Saunders was very proud of all he could remember!

......as was Rose!

We then drew all our favourite things that we have looked at over the year in our own little A4 mini exhibition, colouring them carefully with colouring pencils to ensure that each frame was filled. We're going to finish them over the week and stick them into our topic books as we bid a fond farewell to our Year 1 Art Adventures.....roll on Year 2!!

Rose was very proud of her mini exhibition!
