Click on the movie to enter the exhibition and find out more about the art work below it.

Connie - Buzzard

Connie completed two pieces of art work this week - one a painting and the other a collage. Both of these wonderful bright pictures were inspired by her favourite flowers on the balcony.
What type of flowers do you think they are?

Ruibo - Magpie

Ruibo sent in three pieces of art work this week. He looked at nature to produce two detailed colouring pencil sketches before completing a bold painting of some trees.
Which one do you like best and why?

Rose

All of you who know Rose will appreciate how much she loves nature. She used natural materials to create two very different looking trees. She then painted a delicate dandelion using watercolours.
Which of her tree pictures do you find most effective? Why?

Ayla - Buzzard

Ayla has been very busy this week. 'My first piece of art work is of a flower garden with butterflies. I used flower petals from my garden and drew some butterflies. I also used some lovely butterfly stickers to decorate my garden picture. Then I drew a picture of the woods with tall trees. My little brother, Haaris helped me to do some shell art work in the garden.' Fantastic job both of you!

Aisha - Chiffchaff
Aisha collected some natural materials to create this beautiful collage of a flower and leaves. She has made the flower really stand out by putting it in front of the leaves.

Kio - Kestrel
Kio used things he found in nature to design a new Mission Grove logo. He has used the shape of the rose very cleverly for the letter 'o' and fortunately found a twig in the shape of an 'r'!

Jhael - Kittiwake
Jhael has channelled her inner Van Gogh, to create this fabulous nature landscape. Look at the thick texture of her paint, which she has applied to look like tree bark. She has also used perspective to show the path and trees disappearing into the distance.

Aiden - Kingfisher
This is Aiden's first time in Art Club and he has made a fantastic start with two very different nature-inspired drawings. One is a cartoonified cactus while the other a more detailed drawing of a beetle.

Ms Harris
Ms Harris enjoyed using watercolours so much last week she decided to work with them again for this challenge. However, this week she also went into her garden and found two pebbles which she turned into a sheep and added to her picture.

Yaseen - Year 1
Yaseen collected lots of leaves and flowers to create a welcoming environment for all of the little bugs and insects that he has drawn. How many insects can you spot?

Martyna - Mallard
'I made the ocean and sand by cutting down some card and then added a palm tree, flowers, sun and grass from natural materials that I had collected outside.' The end result is this bold, striking collage.

Rui Xuan - Grouse
Rui Xuan has created a 3D installation for his piece of art this week. He has used bamboo, water and pebbles as well as some man-made objects to create this beach scene.
What are the little characters doing at the seaside?

Rayan - Chaffinch
This week Rayan was inspired by Rose to create a mixed media picture by drawing and colouring the trunk and branches of a tree before adding real leaves to complete it.

Klaudia - Kittiwake

Klaudia is really enjoying painting at the moment so did two this week - one of an eagle catching a fish and the other of a lion family. Finally she did a Georgia O'Keefe inspired close up of a sunflower. It is great to see Klaudia working with different materials.

Martha - Friend of MG

Martha got help from Mother Nature herself by using the sun to create different shadows which she incorporated into her very effective chalk picture. Can you see all of the extra details that have been added around the figure? What title would you give it?

Senna - Magpie
'I looked at a picture of my Grandad's garden to inspire my 'Back To Nature' drawing this week.' Senna used colouring pencils to shade her picture very effectively. Well done for using cross-hatching Senna. Can you also spot where she has used this?

Max - Waxwing

In true Andy Goldsworthy style, Max and his family went off to the woods and used natural materials that they found on the forest floor to create this 3D art work. Other walkers will find it on their journey through the woods, just like people suddenly discover an Andy Goldsworthy!

Rayyan - Year 1
Rayyan collected a lot of natural materials which he used in his very effective 'bug infested' collage! Can you name all the mini-beasts that he has drawn living in this habitat?

Kacper - Grouse
Kacper did two pieces of art this week - a painted cat and a felt tip toucan. Like his sister, he has used two different materials to create two very different final pictures. What names do you think that he should choose for his cat and his toucan?

Ms Zahir
Yaseen and Rayyan's mum had as much fun as her sons creating this fantastic collage from these natural materials. Her arrangement of the leaves, flowers and twigs fills the paper creating a wonderful garden scene.

Aleeza - Kingfisher
Aleeza produced a tree by colouring in the trunk and the branches. She then added pebbles that she had found for the leaves. She also added a different type of rock for the base of the tree.
Can you name this rock?

Faizan - Kittiwake

Faizan produced two natural collages from materials that he found outside. He then used these materials to create a flower and inspired by William Morris, a symmetrial collage.
Can you name of the trees that the leaves come from?

Elizaveta - Kingfisher
Elizaveta created a seashore picture using both colouring pencils and felt pens. Her use of felt pens highlights the shape and detail of her fantastic shell collection. Although it is a landscape picture she has used her still life skills too.
Can you spot the horizon line?

Ms Harding
Ms Harding is a big fan of Yorkshire artist, David Hockney so painted the background to her picture in his style before using natural materials that she found in her garden. 'I grew up in Somerset where a lot of the tall road side hedges were full of wild flowers, so this is a sort of Yorkshire/Somerset mash-up!'

Meanwhile at school....

Mr Murray's group were inspired by symmetry in nature just like William Morris. They collected natural materials, arranged them and then Mr Murray used the mirror effect on a camera to make them symmetrical.
Thank you Tamara, Aleenah, Aaliyah, Nina, Kelson, Ibriham, Alfie, Alex, Laksha, Baz, Sharianne, George and Jamari.....William Morris would be proud!

Mrs Nichols' Year 2 group were also inspired by nature as they used images from nature, their own leaf rubbings and some natural materials to create their nature collage art.
Thank you Amaan, Frieda, Krithic, Alice, Daneen, Akshay, Dominic, Zuzu, Madiba, Ed, Wishnu, Sammy and Ayjay.

Thank you all once again
for getting involved.

Next week will mark our 10th Challenge, so check back in then to find out more about a very special one to involve all the family!
