It's Oh So Quiet - The Exhibition!

Thank you to all those who got involved in this week's challenge and hello to our new Art Clubbers, who have submitted some work for the first time.

Click on the video below to view this week's exhibition, then scroll down below it to find out some more information about the artists and how they created these great still life pictures.

It’s Oh So Quiet from Art@MG on Vimeo.

Bella - Moorhen
This week, Bella used pencil and colouring pencil to create a very effective still life with colour blending and shading.

Ruibo - Magpie
Ruibo also used colouring pencils to create his still life, taking care to show where the light was reflected on his wild mushrooms.

Miss Jennings

Miss Jennings submitted two pieces of art this week, both delicate watercolour pictures.
As she was using water colour paint, Miss Jennings used a special sort of paper - why?

Ehsan - Ex Mission Grover

Inspired by Mughal Era art work in the Wazir Khan Mosque in Lahore, Pakistan, Ehsan did this detailed study using colouring pencils.

Elizaveta - Kingfisher
Elizaveta set up a still life scene on a table and drew it, including a horizon line to show the difference between the wall and the table that her objects were sitting on. She used colouring pencils.

Kio - Kestrel

Kio set up this still life scene which he proceeded to draw and colour using colouring pencils. Again his use of a horizon line shows that his objects are sitting on the table.

Pip - Moorhen
Pip has completed a carefully colour-blended apple, that looks good enough to eat, using colouring pencils.

Rose

Rose really enjoys creating still life pictures - she has used colouring pencils to blend her colours and made sure her fruit and vegetables were drawn behind each other to give a sense of depth.
Which one do you like best - why?

Faizan - Kittiwake
Faizan has created a still life scene with a variety of objects on a table.
He has used wax crayons to create this bright, colourful picture.

Imran - Goldfinch

Like all good artists, Imran practised drawing an apple and a still life scene before producing her final pencil sketches. She has used a horizon line effectively to show the difference between the wall and the table.

 Jhael - Kittiwake
Jhael has used soft pastels to create this bright still life picture. Soft pastels are great for carefully blending colours and producing a background that makes the objects stand out.

Aneesa - Nursery

Aneesa is our youngest art clubber this week and it is great to see her really practising how to draw an apple.

Yaseen - Year 1

Having practised some different sketching techniques, he set up the scene above which he drew and then coloured in felt pens. He has placed some objects behind others to give a sense of depth.

Tahira
Tahira set up a still life scene which she went on to sketch and shade in pencil.
How has Tahira made the objects on the table look closer to you?

Ayla - Buzzard
Ayla drew some fruit, coloured them using felt pens and then cut them out to create this colourful fruit bowl collage.
Can you see her horizon line?

Malaika - Chiffchaff
Malaika has drawn a transparent fruit bowl, shading it using colouring pencils before adding a heart pattern to it in pink felt pen.

Rayyan - Year 1

Rayyan set up his own still life scene on the top of his toy box which he then drew, coloured in colouring pencil, outlining the objects in black to make them stand out.

Klaudia - Kittiwake
Klaudia used paint to create this fantastic still life scene. She has blended her colours together making the objects stand out through the choice of her background colours.

Aisha - Chiffchaff
Aisha has drawn her colourful, patterned bowl and fruit on a table. She has used both colouring pencils and wax crayons to shade it in.

Ms Harris

Ms Harris did her first ever still life using soft pastels which she blended together. She then converted her original picture to a black and white photo to see what it would look like if she had done it in charcoal.
Which one do you prefer? Why?

Senna - Magpie

Senna arranged some of her toys before drawing them. She then used oil pastels to create this vibrant still life scene.

Kacper - Grouse
Kacper used paint to create his still life, full of colourful objects. There is so much going on in his painting.

Ms Harding
Having painted a background, Ms Harding then cut out her objects and stuck them on top to create her still life collage.
She thinks it is too 'busy'! What do you think?

Extra Extra:
We love seeing all the art you do. Yaseen and Rayyan sent in some photos of their finished rainforest models, which look amazing.

Rayyan
 Yaseen

They have also been busy doing lots of art to commemorate VE Day.

Rayyan

Yaseen

As well as that they have been helping to decorate the front of their house and did some artistic baking with their mum.
Well done boys!

Challenge 8 will be revealed tomorrow,
