Fibonacci lived in 1200, over 800 years ago! He studied numbers and theories. He realised their was a sequence of numbers that nobody had noticed or used in the past.
The rule of the sequence is to add the two previous numbers together to get the next number: 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55...etc...etc...
Once you've conquered the rule, you can use it to create the most amazing patterns (ask Year 6 to teach you how!!)
