Blue Planet!

Inspired by Blue Planet and their desire to save our oceans from unnecessary plastic pollution, Year 6 created their own Underwater Art and posters.

We focused on jellyfish, using watercolour paints to create our jelly fish, applying a blob of watercolour paint to our paper and using a straw to blow the paint out to create the tentacles.

We then used fine black pens to bring out the details. Finally we used chalk pastels for our background, carefully blending our colours, aiming to leave 'glow' around the jellyfish. However some of us decided to do our whole picture in chalk pastels, filling out the details with charcoal, or conversely our whole picture in watercolours.

Some of us decide to stop here, leaving our pictures, while others went on to create slogans and messages, so that others would join them in their fight to Save Our Oceans.
