Express Yourself.....musically!

Not only are the Year 4 children expressing themselves through visual art, but they are also using music as a stimulus for art and as a way of expressing feelings, moods emotions and ideas.

Kandinsky's own work was very much linked to music.

As a warm up the children listened to 4 different pieces of music, deciding which kind of lines, shapes and colours went with them.

They then looked at an abstract picture, deciding in groups how to represent the feeling/mood of the picture through sound.

Each group worked together to compose and perform their own pieces. 

Year 4 continued their musical adventures with a Conductive Music Workshop, where Science and Music came together.
