Year 6 go to America!

As part of their There's A Boy In The Girl's Bathroom topic, Year 6 have been investigating American Pop Art, as the novel is set in America.

As part of this the children did a case study and some independent research on Roy Lichtenstein, going on to create their own independent Ben Day dot art in his style and inspired by popular subjects.
They also honed their sketching skills by repeatedly drawing and improving on a drawing of a bald eagle. They used their final copy to overset a painting of the American flag.
They went on to produce their own Andy Warhol portrait inspired art,  using colouring pens and tracing paper.
Finally they completed a watercolour picture of a Washington sunset skyline.

Here's a taster of their work, some individual photos will follow.
