Last half term, Year 3 focused on portraits. First they revised drawing faces using the correct proportions - something they had practised in Year 2.
Then we moved on to sketching some half faces in our sketchbooks, trying to recreate the other half of the faces as accurately as possible.
After that we tried the same thing, but using charcoal and chalk to try and get some more accurate shading.
Our portraits are now on display, showing the difference between trying to make our faces as realistic as possible compared to the way Modigliani's portraits were based on simple mask-like shapes.
