Positively Negative Photos!

Having looked at the use of positive and negative space just before half term in Art, Year 4 Camera Club, focused on using it in their photos this week.

After a quick recap, we looked at some examples of positive and negative space in photographs, where a plain or blurred background (negative space) really makes the object of the shot (positive space) really stand out.

Then we set off outside to try some of our own, just as the skies got brighter, providing us with a fantastic negative space backdrop for some of our shots.

Love this macro shot, with the blurred background - as good as the professional photographs shot of the bug on the leave against a blurred negative space.

Finally we became the objects of the shot, the positive space,  while the amazing blue sky became our negative space.
