Super Spirals!

This week Year 1 continued their journey with The Stickman and his favourite artist - Andy Goldsworthy. We started by drawing a variety of trees, trying to add some bark patterns where we could, practising how to draw some wintry 'v' trees.

After that we practised drawing a wintry 'v' tree - we were very good at it!

Once more Mr Saunders was very proud of his efforts,
but we think ours were EVEN better!!

We then looked at Andy Goldsworthy and other artists use of spiral shapes in their work, before getting rather spirally ourselves.

SPIRAL-TASTIC!

We moved into the hall to continue our spiral adventures, creating spirals with a variety of materials, both natural (like Andy Goldsworthy) and man-made. As these were temporary creations we each photographed them on an iPad so we had a record of our work.

While  we each created our spiral masterpieces, the rest of us added to a giant spirally picture using black felt pens and also created our own patterned sleeping spiral snakes.
