We did a quick positive and negative picture using black felt pens to make sure we remembered it. We drew black objects (positive space)on a white background (negative space) and on the other side white objects (positive space) on a black background (negative space.
Then we tried some more complicated Japanese Notan pictures, which involved cutting and flipping shapes from the sides of a rectangle, so we were left with white shapes (objects/postive space) on black (negative space and black shapes (objects positive space) on white (negative space).
