And so......we are nearly at the end of last year's retrospective. Year 5 were looking at Volcanoes and Earthquakes. As it was such a Geography based topic we started think about geographic shapes & patterns such as globes,grid lines and contours. This lead us towards looking autopsical illusions in art (op Art). Then we looked at using perspective in our landscape drawing, using this in our final volcano or earthquake picture (all of which have sadly gone home without being photographed)
We moved on to all things Greek, creating our own Greek vases and urns, by covering sugar paper in wax crayons, then black paint with added washing up liquid. We scratched this away in different patterns/pictures to reveal the coloured wax below.
We then tried our hand at a spot of Roman sculpture - using soap instead of marble...
