Past Adventures #9

In the Spring Term Year 3's topics were Take One Picture (based on Renoir's Umbrella's) and Get Moving.
During Take One Picture we investigated The Umbrellas in detail, looked at Renoir's style and especially his use of colour; we looked at some of his fellow impressionists and visited The National Gallery to look at the actual paintings.

The following half term during Get Moving, we looked at showing movement through Art, looking at Edward Muybridge's early photo experiments and the work of The Futurists. 

We had a go at creating our own montage pictures to show movement. Having decided on a pose we liked, we used it to create a template, from which we drew and cut out figures. We then arranged them on the page to try and get them to look as it they were moving across it.
