Rarrk Stars!

Year 2 finished their work on Australia by looking at Aboriginal Rarrk pictures.


We looked at who painted them, why and how.






Then we practised hatching and cross hatching techniques as well as trying a simple Rarrk style picture in our sketchbooks using colouring pencils.


































It was such a beautiful day, just like summer in Australia, so we took ourselves outside to try some Rarrk style pictures in the playground using chalk. Suddenly there was a sea of hatched and cross hatched creatures - we are true Rarrk Stars!

Sadly it rained when Wren were doing their lesson, so they had to content themselves with being Rarrk Stars inside with some sharpies and rolls of lining paper.
