Uluru

Year 2 continued on their Australian adventure this week, looking at the famous landmark of Uluru.

Having looked at some key facts about this amazing monolith, we focused on the way it appears to change colour at different times of the day.

We then looked at the way Tony Hudson used colour in his African desertscapes (he hasn't done any Australian landscapes, so we've beaten him to it!!) and how other artists have represented Uluru, before embarking upon our own versions.

Having drawn a simple horizon line and outline of Uluru in pencil, we used oil pastels to colour this in and add any details in the foreground.

Finally we used paint (light blue, dark blue and purple) for our skies.
