Tutank-ART-khamun!

Year 4 have kicked off our new Ancient Egypt topic with LOADS of art! First we created some typical Egyptian landscapes in a variety of ways.

Then we looked in more detail at the treasures of Ancient Egypt.

We focused on Tutankhamun's death mask, looking at its shape and patterns carefully as we completed a symmetrical sketch of it.

Then we practised drawing the whole death mask in our sketchbooks before doing our own large scale pictures, using paint (either watercolours or poster paints) and outlining  with black pens.

Finally, we outlined our finished masks with a black pen, to really make them stand out.
