Winter Trees

For our last lesson of 2017, we warmed up by drawing Harry the MG robin and his relations - we are masters of robin drawing:

Mr Merchant & Miss Rhianna have also
mastered the art of robin sketches!

We then went into the hall to begin our winter tree pictures. First we ripped up pieces of newspaper for the snowing ground, then we used some old pieces of pre-painted paper left over from a previous project for  the tree trunk. We stuck these onto some black sugar paper.

We then used different shades of green to paint our trees. We tried to make them triangular, starting with a wider base and getting gradually narrower. We blobbed are paint on to make them more 'fir tree like' before using a thinner brush to add our snow.

Here are some of our finished ones after they were dry.
