Treasures From The Tomb!

Year 4 started their adventure in Egyptian Art by looking at one of the most famous, icon artefacts of all time - Tutankhamun's Death Mask.

We got acquainted with it, observerving it carefully in our warm-up sketches.

Then we learnt a little more about the 'Boy King'.

After that, we practised drawing his death mask in our sketchbooks......

....before folding our A3 cartridge paper into 8 sections to help us draw a large-scale, life size version of the mask.

When these were finished, we went over our pencil lines with a black Sharpie so we could see really clearly where we were painting.

Finally the painting! We used gold first, then completed our blue and red sections.

When they were all dry, we outlined them again with a black marker and cut them out

They are now proudly displayed in our classrooms and around school on both NS and SS as part of our new Humanities display boards.
