Over the last couple of weeks, Year 1 said goodbye ladybirds and hello to spiders and their webs during their Minibeast topic. The Very Busy Spider guided us through what we had to do.
First we had a go at drawing spiders webs ourselves, then we had some extra practice...

The very Busy Spider then introduced us to his favourite artist - Mondrian who we learnt a little bit about.
We soon set to work drawing our webs onto A3 cartridge paper and colouring them with marker pens in the style of Mondrian.
The following week we practised drawing spiders to go on our webs.....
....before finishing colouring our webs and adding our spiders, with extra google eyes for added effect! The Very Busy Spider was very pleased with is new portrait gallery.
