Having looked at the influence of nature on his work last week, recognising his repeated motifs of flowers and plants, as well as his use of natural colours we decided to pay homage to the great man by creating our own symmetrical collages out of natural materials.
We worked in pairs (with the help of some special Year 5 visitors!) on pre-stained, then photocopied A3 paper, to give our collages an 'aged' effect, building out from a centre fold to make them as symmetrical as possible, before gluing down with PVA.
Our first case of 'stickypetalitis'!
When some of us finished we drew our design into our sketchbooks.
